Margins rebounded and guidance rose again, while SMCI trades at a fraction of NVDA’s multiple.
The question hanging over Super Micro Computer all year has been whether its margins would hold once the AI hardware boom matured into something more competitive. After Tuesday’s close, that question has an answer: they did, and then some.
Elon Musk’s Insane Projection: 7,692,207%
Where should you invest $100 right now?
Elon Musk just invented and patented this new AI technology…
And he’s predicting it will launch a NEW industry that will grow more than 7 million percent in the coming years.
Even if he’s only 10% right, that would still be enough to grow $100 into more than $700,000.

Super Micro reported Q1 fiscal 2027 non-GAAP earnings of $1.81 per share. Revenue came in at $19.9 billion. Both figures cleared the bar Super Micro had already set for itself in an October 20, 2026 preliminary update. Revenue of $19.9 billion also exceeded the company’s pre-announced range of $18.5 billion to $19.5 billion.
Non-GAAP gross margin of 12.8% topped the company’s October 20 preliminary gross margin range of 12.0% to 12.5% and rose from 9.5% a year ago. That is the number that actually moved sentiment. Coming into the report, the market had spent weeks pricing in margin deterioration. Instead, the company delivered margins above even its revised October targets.
Why Wall Street Is Paying Attention
Q1 revenue reached $19.9 billion, up 298% year over year and above guidance, prompting the company to raise fiscal 2027 revenue guidance to $72 billion to $82 billion from $65 billion to $72 billion. Second-quarter guidance calls for revenue of $19.5 billion to $21.5 billion and non-GAAP diluted EPS of $1.66 to $1.90.
Former Congressman Ron Paul’s Biggest Warning Yet
They mocked him for warning about the housing bubble. Then 2008 happened. They called his predictions about the dollar crazy. Now groceries cost double what they did in 2020. Today, at 91 years old, Dr. Ron Paul is stepping forward with what may be the most important warning of his life: a crisis he believes could wipe out the savings of millions of Americans.
The stock had fallen sharply into the report, which matters when evaluating how much of the post-earnings move is genuine re-rating versus relief. Through the November 3, 2026 close, SMCI was up about 7% year to date and down about 34% over the past 12 months.
The Case for SMCI Over the Chipmakers
This is where the more interesting argument lives. Nvidia reports on November 17, 2026. Investors buying NVDA today are paying for expectations that remain near consensus highs. Super Micro, by contrast, enters this rally at a valuation that has been compressed by governance concerns unrelated to its actual business performance.
SMCI’s forward P/E sits at 8.08, a multiple well below what any analyst would apply to a company growing revenue nearly 300% year over year.
Super Micro is a focused AI infrastructure vendor, selling servers and its Data Center Building Block Solutions, which bundle computing, storage, liquid cooling, networking and management software. Dell spreads its exposure across AI servers, traditional servers, storage and a large PC business. That concentrated model explains both Super Micro’s tighter margins and its faster revenue growth. It is a purer wager on AI server demand than either Dell or HPE.
Strange “Loophole” Allows Anyone to Collect “SpaceX Royalty” Payouts
Thanks to a little-known loophole…
Mainstreet investors can collect a fair share of a $3.6 billion payout from what Marc Lichtenfeld calls “SpaceX Royalty Shares…”
It’s all thanks to a “loophole” in the U.S. tax code…
What Could Go Wrong
The margin story is not without tension. Large AI platform deployments can pressure margins, and Supermicro’s model is working-capital intensive as it scales.
Despite profitability, SMCI’s free cash flow yield has been deeply negative on some commonly used market data services, reflecting heavy working-capital needs and investment as the company grows. That cash profile can create dependence on customer prepayments and credit markets staying open.
The Bottom Line
Super Micro is not a safer bet than Nvidia, but it may be a better-valued one right now. The earnings beat cleared the most damaging uncertainty about margins. Guidance was raised, not trimmed. The governance discount that crushed the stock over the past year is fading as filings normalize. That combination, a beaten-down multiple on an accelerating business, is precisely the kind of situation where the assembler outperforms the supplier. At roughly $31 to $34 in recent trading, the risk-reward skews favorably for investors willing to hold through Nvidia’s November 17 report.
