Hi, Tim Plaehn here.
Here’s the best part about the IPO boom of 2026…
You don’t need to buy a single IPO to profit from it.
SpaceX already went public. Anthropic and OpenAI could be right behind.
And I found a little-known fund that lets you play the whole wave…
While getting paid monthly…
I’m talking about a 20% annualized distribution rate.
Up to $1,104 in a single month.

Apple Reports Tonight. Margins Are the Real Story.
Apple reports fiscal Q4 2026 results tonight, and the surface read looks clean. Analysts expect about $113.3 billion in revenue and $1.98 in earnings per share, which would keep full-year growth in the double digits. The harder conversation is what happens below the revenue line, and what management says about the three months ahead.
This quarter covers June 28 through September 26, a window that captured the opening stretch of iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max sales following Apple’s September product event. iPhone revenue is projected at approximately $56.5 billion, up roughly 15% year over year. Services should come in near $31.6 billion. Both numbers matter, but neither is the real risk heading into tonight’s call.
The Margin Squeeze
Apple guided gross margin to 47% to 48% for this quarter, down from 50.1% in June. The June figure was flattered by tariff refunds that added about two percentage points. For Q4, Apple said the gross-margin guide includes an approximately one percentage point benefit from tariff refunds, and rising memory costs are still a headwind.
A gross margin result below 47% would likely put meaningful pressure on the stock. A result at the high end of the guided range, paired with a constructive December outlook, would be the cleaner outcome. Some bulls argue there’s room for upside versus consensus, but the bar is set by the margin story, not the top line.
John Ternus’s First Call
Tonight is also the first earnings call led by CEO John Ternus, who succeeded Tim Cook effective September 1, 2026 after Cook’s 28 years at Apple. Ternus has spent his career running hardware engineering, which makes him a credible voice on supply constraints.
The December quarter commentary is arguably more important than any individual metric tonight. Consensus for fiscal Q1 2027 sits near $153 billion, the holiday quarter that will include a full cycle of iPhone 18 and the recently launched iPhone Duo. Services gross margin ran at 75.6% last quarter, and that segment’s continued growth is the clearest structural offset to hardware cost pressure. Paid subscriptions exceeded 1.5 billion as of the June quarter. At 75%-plus margins, each incremental Services dollar does substantially more for profitability than a hardware dollar at 35% to 38%.
What Could Go Wrong
The downside scenarios are not complicated. A gross margin guide below 46% for December would signal that cost pressure is worse than expected. Any softening in iPhone demand commentary would revive the debate about whether the AI-driven upgrade cycle is losing steam. Supply constraints that limit holiday quarter production could also disappoint a market pricing in strong iPhone 18 volumes. The stock traded near $345 heading into today, and options pricing reflects meaningful two-way risk.
Apple’s competitive position in consumer hardware and software remains among the strongest in the market. The business itself is not in question. The question tonight is whether management can credibly navigate a margin reset while maintaining the premium multiple the stock has commanded. That answer comes in about six hours.
